10/30/07 Hershey's AmputationMy Hershey had a real fast onset of bone cancer that grew into a great big tumor on her hind leg. When we left for Greece, there was a little swelling in her leg and she had started to go lame. By the time we got back from Greece at the beginning of August, the tumor had grown to be the size of a softball. As such, we were faced with the question of do you put her down or do you amputate. We amputated. In the last couple of months, she's done wonderful for a 12 year old dog. She's found her balance and can hike about a mile or two.

Meaghan and I took a month long trip to the Greek islands. Pictures 1 through 7 are from the island of Rhodes. Pictures 8 through 35 are from Astypalea. Pictures 36 through 41 are from Amorgos. Pictures 42 through 60 are from Naxos. Pictures 61 through 66 are from Antiparos. Pictures 67 through 69 are from Paros. And the remainder are from Athens.

6/27/07 Hermosa Creek TrailBen and I went biking from the Upper Hermosa trailhead down to the Lower Hermosa trailhead. About 2/3rds of the way in I managed to go over my handlebars at full speed and tear myself up pretty good.
